Life Skill Training

At our program, we recognize that recovery is not just about overcoming addiction—it's about building a solid foundation for a healthier ,more independent life moving forward. That's why we offer comprehensive Life Skill training opportunities designed to empower our residents with the tool sand knowledge they need to succeed in all areas of life.

Building Practical Skills for Everyday Living Life skills are essential for navigating the challenges ofdaily life, and our training programs focus on developing these skills in asupportive and structured environment. These skills include:

Time Management: Learning how to organize daily activities, set priorities, and manage time effectively is critical to maintaining a balanced and productive life.
Financial Literacy: Understanding budgeting, saving, managing expenses, and setting financial goals can help residents build stability and avoid     common pitfalls that might hinder long-term recovery.​
Job Readiness and Career Development: Our training includes resume-building workshops, interview preparation, and job search     strategies, as well as advice on professional conduct and maintaining a job once employed.
Health and Wellness: Residents learn the importance of physical and mental health, with lessons on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and self-care practices that support long-term well-being.
Communication Skills: Whether it's managing conflicts, asking for help, or building positive relationships, effective communication is a cornerstone of both personal and professional success.

Guidance & Community Support

We believe in the power of community to support residents through their recovery journey. By connecting them with local leaders, mentors, and resources, we provide the guidance and structure needed for success. All residents are required to be employed or enrolled as full-time students, helping them develop responsibility and purpose. Our partnerships with local churches, businesses, and civic organizations ensure residents have access to the tools and opportunities necessary to thrive.

Employment or Education Requirement: All residents must maintain a job or be a full-time student.
Community Partnerships: We collaborate with local churches, businesses, and civic     organizations to create a broad support network.
Mentorship and Guidance: Residents are connected with mentors and sponsors to help guide their personal and professional growth.
Employment Opportunities: We partner with employers to help residents find stable, meaningful work.
Supportive Resources: Residents gain access to educational programs and resources that help them build skills for long-term success.
SERVICE 3

Faith

As a faith-based organization, we believe that true healing and recovery are rooted in God’s mercy and grace. We guide our residents in integrating their faith into their recovery journey, encouraging them to seek spiritual strength as a core part of their transformation.

Our residents are invited to attend a church of their choice, build a relationship with a sponsor, and engage in biblical studies. We recognize that recovery is a process that cannot be undertaken alone, and our faith is the foundation that supports and sustains us through every step.

Bible Studies: Regular opportunities for spiritual growth and reflection.
Celebrate Recovery: A Christ-centered program that fosters healing and support.
Discipleship: Building a deeper connection with Christ through intentional guidance.
Accountability: Encouraging personal responsibility and spiritual growth through mentoring.

SERVICE 4

Case Management

Our case manager works with each resident on an individual basis to set short and long-term goals, to assist in applying for health insurance, and to get paired with a sponsor.  The case manager also counsels the residents during regularly scheduled meetings and while reviewing ongoing case plans.

Needs Assessment: to identify the specific challenges and barriers each resident may face, ensuring tailored support throughout their time at Souls Harbor.
Counseling: is an integral part of the case management process, offering emotional exploration and  support as residents navigate the complexities of recovery. The case manager serves as both a counselor and an advocate, assisting residents in connecting with other resources and professionals as necessary.
Advocacy: ensures that each resident's voice is heard when interacting with external agencies, whether it be for legal matters, accessing government services, or securing transportation.
Service Planning: the case manager helps to create an individualized plan that outlines the specific services and resources a resident will need to reach their goals. This holistic approach ensures that all areas of a resident's life are addressed, supporting a smooth transition into long-term recovery and stability.
Recovery Progression: is actively monitored by the case manager through regular check-ins, progress reviews, and adjustments to recovery plans. This ensures that each resident stays on track, celebrates their successes, and adapts to new challenges, helping them move steadily toward achieving lasting sobriety and independence.

Guidance

We connect our residents with leaders in our community to help them navigate this next step in their recovery.  All of our residents are required to have a job or be a full-time student.  We partner with many local churches, companies, and civic organizations to connect with sponsors and mentors.  We work with these partners to help employ, educate, support, and guide our residents.

Faith

We are a faith-based organization, connecting recovery to God’s mercy.  Our residents weekly attend a church of their choice , work with a sponsor, and participate in biblical studies.  We understand that we cannot do anything alone.  Our faith is our foundation.

Case Management

Our case manager works with each resident on an individual basis to set short and long-term goals, assist in applying for health insurance, and get paired with a sponsor.  The case manager also counsels the residents through regularly scheduled meetings and case plans.

We walk alongside men in recovery as they transition from living a life of addiction to rebuilding and restoring their lives.
